Abstract
Overpopulation,resources crisis and environment pollution have been three major social problems in the modern world,among which population is the first and foremost factor in the realization of sustainable development.Based on the connotation of sustainable development,the article analyzes the close relations between population and sustainable develop- ment in society.It thinks that the sustainable subsistence of population and its development are the core of social develop- ment.The article also analyzes the problem in population sustainable development in China at present and proposes some re- lated countermeasures from three aspects.
