Cultural Connotation of the Ethnic Costumes in Yunnan ——Comments on Women's Function in the Bequeathal of Ethnic Costumes Culture

Researches of the relationship between ethnic people's costumes, and geography, history and culture in Yunnan show that the costumes, as an important part of traditional culture, embody the ethnic conventions, gender culture and decoration arts. Bearing historical, ethnic and natural messages, they are also a way of non-verbal communication. The findings also exhibit women's function in the protection and bequeathal of ethnic costumes culture.
