Abstract

A dispersion was prepared by mixing nano-titanium dioxide with a dispersant and ethanol at a ratio of 1:10-15, after the mixture being ultrasonically dispersed, then stirred in a high shear emulsifying machine. The dispersing effect of nano-titanium dioxide was the best if 1% triethanolamine was used as the dispersant, ultrasonic agitation for 30 minutes at 80-100℃, pH=8.5. When this dispersion was applied in finishing of fabrics, the degradation of formaldehyde on the fabrics would photocatalytically be improved under UV irradiation.
