Abstract
[Objective] To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of measles in Changzhou city from 2004 to 2009, and develop efficient strategies to measles control and prevention. [Methods] Descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted to analyze epidemic data of measles and the monitoring data of measles collected from 2004 to 2009. [Results] Higher incidence rates were found in most developed areas. Seasonal distribution of measles was very noticeable with 64.92%of all the cases between March to May. The age groups with high incidence were 0-15 years old and ﹥20 years old which accounted for 66.36% and 26.39% respectively in all measles cases. The cases in floating population covered 54.5% in all cases. [Conclusion] In the developed cities, most of the measles cases are migrant working population. We must further strengthen the measles vaccine immunization and immune response. Measles vaccination is recommended to all reproductive women.
