Abstract
In the paper,a new generalized Riccati equation rational expansion method is applied to solve the modified Zakharov - Kuznetsov equation and a number of hyperbolic function solutions and triangular function periodic solutions of the equation are obtained with the help of symbolic computation system Maple.
