Abstract
Objective To investigate the protective effect of combination of isoflurane and captopril preconditioning on myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury in rabbit. Methods 48 healthy New Zealand white rabbits were equally divided into the sham-operated group( group S),the ischemia/reperfusion group( group I/R),the ischemic preconditioning group( group IPC),the isoflurane group( group I),the captopril group( group C),and the combination of isoflurane and captopril preconditioning group( group I + C). Rabbits were opened chest without ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery( LAD). Blood samples were taken from arterial line for examination of plasma CK,CK-MB,LDH,cTnI,MDA and SOD levels. Results The levels of CK,CK-MB,LDH and cTnI of group IPC and group I + C were significantly lower than that of group I,group C and group I / R( P 0. 05),but they were higher than group S( P 0. 05). Levels of MDA increased while levels of SOD decreased in all the groups( P 0. 01). But compared with group I / R,all the group of medication have a lower level of MDA and a higher level of SOD( P 0. 01). Group IPC and group I + C had lower levels of MDA and SOD compared with group I and higher levels of MDA and SOD compared with group C( P 0. 05). Conclusion The combination of isoflurane and captopril preconditioning induces cardioprotection against ischemia reperfusion injury in rabbits, and the cardioprotection which has a similar effects with ischemic preconditioning was better than that of isoflurane or captopril preconditioning alone.
