Abstract
The effect of subcritical treating temperature and time on microstructure, hardness and wear resistance of a high chromium white cast iron which has a great amount of the retained austenite is studied. The results show that, the retained austenite can transform into martensite in cooling to room temperature after heat treated at 500~600℃ leading the increase of hardness of the high chromium white cast iron. After subcritical treating at suitable temperature and time, the high chromium white cast iron can get the most high hardness.Wear test results show that the subcritical treatment can increase wear resistance of the high chromium white cast iron.
