Abstract
Up till now little knowledge was recognized by oil and gas companies on profit and cost evaluation indexes on a single well and their application. Hereby based on the brief introduction about the profit and cost in the profit evaluation method on a single well, this study used it at a certain oil and gas field, and carried out comparative analysis on the differences between profit + cost and the daily oil and gas production + composite water cut. This study result showed that if a single well profit was judged only by the daily oil and gas production and composite water cut, a wrong conclusion might mislead the operators or managers in the end; and the indexes of profit and cost could be reasonable to evaluate on a single well profit and so as to judge if this well was cost-efficient or not, if cost-efficient enough a corresponding evaluation method or multiple methods should be taken fully into consideration under both internal and external environment of an individual oil and gas company.
