Abstract
CBR experiment is an index on quality control of subgrade engineering and road surface design about highways and runways.According to loess surgrade of Luo Ding freeway located in Ding-Xi region,CBR values of loess and lime soil are analysed under the influences of different water contents, lime dosages, foundering times and compacting degrees.Experimental results indicate that CBR values of loess are very sensitive to water contents.Whereas quicklime is sophisticated into loess, this sensitivity of water contents would gradually decline and water stability of lime soil would be better than that of the loess. If the increasing strength of lime soil with the elapsed time is not taken into account, the optimal lime dosages would have varied from 1% to 3% and when the lime soil is sufficiently compacted,CBR values of the soil submerged in water for 4 days will keep satisfying the requirements of criterion.
