Inheritance and Development——SI Ma-qian's ldeas on literary and Artistic Creation

Since the publishiping of Aristotle's PERI POIETIKES,the concept of studyin the Tang Dynasty had been a synonym for literary and artistic theory or aesthetics which means scientifically studying literature,art and aesthetics.SI Ma-qian's argumentation on poetry and poetic prose in Records of the Historian indicate SI Ma-qian's ideas on literary and artistic creation:the essence of literature and art is conveying ideas;the purpose of literary and artistic creation is expressing worries and indignance and literary and artistic works should be evaluated and appreciated in the light of Confucianism.
