UML(Unified Modeling Language) is a general and graphic modeling language in ObjectOriented development, which is mainly used for describing software system and constructing software systematic architecture, also an important tool in analyzing objects software engineering environments This paper analyzes the modeling mechanisms and characteristics of UML, and give the example of constructing the information model of library system exception purchasing module by using UML as a tool of OOSE
