Abstract

Impellers of medium-high specific speed centrifugal pump were designed based on both the one-dimensional and two-dimensional design theory.Meridional velocity and velocity moments distribution on the blade were simulated numerically with Fluent. It was confirmed by analyzing these distribution curves that the distribution of meridional velocity on the blade based on one-dimensional theory was uniform along the flow passage cross-section.By means of two-dimensional theory and potential flow distribution method,an impeller with potential flow over the most part of the blade might be designed, but this approach was not yet.The performance curve of pump could be obtained with CFD,hydraulic performance of one-dimensional theory-based impeller would be better than that of two-dimensional theory-based impeller. And velocity moments distribution on blade would be a key factor affecting the hydraulic performance of the two-dimensional theory-based impeller.
