The value of CT and MRI in diagnosis of jaws osteomyelitis

Abstract

Objective:To explore imaging characteristics and the value of CT and MRI in diagnosis of jaws osteomyelitis.Methods:21 cases of jaws osteomyelitis were imaged with CT and MRI.The imaging signs were compared with the pathologic findings and confirmed with double blind method.Results:MRI shows bone marrow edema and soft tissue lesions well,and CT shows bone changes exactly and stereoscopicly.Conclusion:CT and MRI both has shortages and advantages.It is valuable in diagnsis and therapy of jaws osteomyelitis.
