Abstract

According to the microwave and electromagnetic theory,a TM020 mode cylindrical cavity working on L-band was designed,the position of the drift tubes in the cavity was determined using the mathematic method with the field distribution as a reference.After simulating the empty cavity and cavity with drift tubes by the 3D electromagnetic software Isfel3D,the modes field distribution and the characteristic parameters of the empty cavity and the cavity with drift tubes were obtained,and the difference of TM020 mode and TM010 mode was compared.Simulation results show that the cavity working on TM020 mode can enlarge the cavity volume,decrease the load of cathode,thus it can augment the power capability of cavity.
