A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE REGIONAL INDUSTRIAL STRUCTURE OF FUJIAN PROVINCE BASED ON SSM

Abstract

With the Shift-Share Method(SSM), the state of the economic growth from 1996 to 2002 of the nine regions in Fujian province is analyzed by comparison. Thereby, the information about the advantages and disadvantages in industrial structure and competitive power of the nine individual regions is collected from the above comparative analysis. Then the influence of the existing industrial structure on the economic growth of the individual regions is further analyzed. Finally, from the angle of industrial structure, some proposals are put forward for promoting the regional economic growth of Fujian province.
