Abstract
The genre history of ancient Chinese music is an important field of Chinese music history.Causes of research on genre history of ancient Chinese music come from the researches from the ancient time and from the art value.The research is theoretically based on various achievements resulted from the introduction of historical research methods of modern science.The research structure is due to the historical choices.It is also the historic heritage which the current scholars have to face bravely.This thesis gives a general introduction to the contents and methods of such research to attract more attention to the genre history of ancient Chinese music.
