Abstract

Taking the soil along third ring south road of Xuzhou city as research object, the study measured the contents of heavy metal(Cu、Cr and Pb)in the soil. With the help of the results, the characteristics of pollution and distribution law were studied. The research results show:First, concentration of heavy metal in roadside soil decreases with greater distance from the highway, the contents of heavy metal come to the maximum at the distance of 10-30 meters, then gradually decreases with distance, and heavy metals entering into soil mainly accumulate in the surface layer(0-30 cm).Second, the contents of heavy metal(Cu、Cr and Pb)in the soil on both sides of the road are higher than the first level of national soil environmental background values, the pollution is moderate for Pb,the pollution level of Cu is between light and heavy and light for Cr.Third, the pollution source of heavy metal mainly comes from the exhaust gas of motor vehicles.
