Abstract
Objective:To explore the nursing experience for the neurogenic pulmonary edema (NPE) occurred after cerebral inju-ry,and to improve the success rate of treating. Methods:18 patients with NPE were reviewed from 2000 to 2007 and the methods of nursing care were concluded. Results:The pulmonary edema was disappeared in eleven patients and seven patients died due to NPE. After following up for 3 to 12 months, four died and one got to vegetable state, one severely disabled, two middle disabled and three well recovered. Conclusions:Patients with cerebral injury complicated with NPE had a bad prognosis. Ventilation was an effective method for the treatment of NPE and might improve the recovery rate of the patients.
