Study on Spatial-temporal Kriging Interpolation of Monthly Precipitation in Three Provinces of Northeast China

Abstract

In order to realize spatial-temporal interpolation at any point in space-time field,a kind of practical product-sum model of spatial-temporal variograms was chosen for monthly precipitation in the three provinces of Northeast China from 1999 to 2008.As every station's precipitation can be regarded as a time series,decomposition was processed and seasonal part was removed.Spatial-temporal variogram was built based on the ones of pure space and pure time.Extending 2d-Kriging to 3d,the rainfall of all stations in October 1999 was estimated,and the effect was compared with spatial Kriging's.The result of compare shows that spatial-temporal interpolation is practical,and because of considering the correlation of both space and time,its accuracy is better than that of spatial Kriging.
