Abstract

Using crisp tomato 'Harvest' as test material, this paper studied the effects of bagging with four different texture bags on its growth and quality and the micro environment within the bags. The results showed that the relative humidity(RH) and temperature increased inside different bags, and the illumination intensity in bag significantly weakened, compared with the control.Bagging with white plastic bag and white paper with plastic bag could improve the fruit-diameter-growth rate and fruit mass and quality. However, the fruit soluble solid and flesh firmness did not change remarkably.Bagging could promote fruit maturing in advance, improve fruit outward appearance luster.Bagging prevented botrytis cinerea, but tomato with white plastic bag was subject to severe botrytis cinerea as a result of intense humidity in this bag.In general, the comprehensive index of fruit with white paper with plastic bag was superior than the other three texture bags. When the fruit diameter was 2-3 cm,it was the most favorable time for bagging and the fruit grew best.
