Abstract

Objective:To explore the mechanical ventilation treatment of severe thoracic trauma complicated with acute respiratory distress syndrome.Method:18 cases of severe thoracic trauma complicated by acute respiratory distress syndrome were reviewed.Result:In this group,ARDS accounted for 9.3% in thoracic injury. All the patients required the mechanical ventilation treatment(mean=6.2days).The mortality was 11.1%.Conclusion:Early diagnosis and mechanical ventilation treatment of ARDS are effective methods to decrease the mortality of ARDS.
