Abstract
Based on the characteristics analysis of a certain iron-separation tailings and the results of a series of flowsheet and parameter tests,a process of grinding-spiral chute-low intensity magnetic separation-high intensity magnetic separation-grinding-flotation was proposed.Grinding fineness for the first stage of grinding was-0.074 mm 50.0% and for the second,70%.The majority of qualified tailings were abandoned by spiral chute.Magnetite was recovered by the low intensity magnetic separation, while the discarding of mud and tailings with high intensity magnetic separation provided optimized processing conditions for flotation, thereafter, pyrite and gangue minerals can be removed by flotation. The grade of titanium concentrate reached 46.33%,and with the iron-separation tailings as the raw ore,the yield and the recovery of the concentrate is 1.6% and 16.5%,respectively.The loss of titanium in the tailings mainly existed in the gangue mineral Ti-pyroxene.
