Abstract
The ethyl lactate was synthesized starting from lactic acid and ethanol over a solid superacid SO 4 2- /ZrO 2-TiO 2 catalyst. SO 4 2- /ZrO 2-TiO 2 was synthesized by adding ZrO 2∶ TiO 2=1∶1 (molar ratio) to 1.5?mol·L -1 H 2SO 4 , immersing 24 hours, baking 1 hour at 600?℃. The molar ratio of ethanol to lactic acid was 1.5∶1 , reaction time was 11 hours , weight of catalyst was 2.0% of lactic acid mass. The yield of ethyl lactate reached up to 46.76%.
