Effect observation of correction of epicanthus by the transverse-one's procedure with simultaneous blepharoplasty

Objective To correct epicanthus by the transverse-one's procedure with simultaneous incision blepharoplasty,and observe the shape change of epicanthal and double eyelid and postoperative scar.Comprehensive clinical effects evaluation were carried out on the bases of patient satisfaction.Methods Firstly conventional incision double eyelid operation were performed,and then opened the inner canthus angle by cross cutting of epicanthus,extended outward the incision along 2mm below the lower palpebral edge,separated subcutaneous adhesions below incision,cutted off part of fault structure of orbicularis,epicanthus ligament and fascia,so fully revealed the lacrimal caruncle,and new inner canthal angle and double eyelids line formationed.Results All 96 cases of redundant skin of internal canthus disappeared and lacrimal-caruncle exposed appropriately,the intercanthal distance shortened,the appearance of double eyelid was beautiful and natural.36 cases in 96 were followed up for 3 months to 3 years,no obvious scar,shape stable,and the effect were satisfactory.Conclusion Epicanthus surgery by the transverse-one's procedure with simultaneous blepharoplasty can fully correct epicanthus,no obvious scar formed on inner canthal skin,the appearance of double eyelid was natural,and the effect were satisfactory.
