Abstract
A new method for determination of trace cobalt in samples by flame atomic absorption spectrometry after cloud point extraction was developed. The cloud point extraction system was based on Triton X-114 as surfactant and ammonium pyrrolidyldithiocarbamate(APDC) as chelating agent. The parameters affecting cloud point extraction including pH,amount of Trion X-114,concentration of APDC,extraction temperature and time were optimized. The detection limit(3σ) was 2.6 μg/L,relative standard deviation was 6.2%(n=7,c=200μg/L) under the optimized conditions. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of trace cobalt in samples such as kelp and injection of vitamin B12.
