Abstract

Based on the geometrical properties of Bezier surfaces and the genetic algorithms,a new algorithm for degree reduction of Bezier curve is presented in this paper.Compared with the algorithms in the past,the new algorithm computes simply,with the error tolerance is got directly and possesses stronger geometric explanation.
