Abstract

A series of Al-Pillared montmorillonite supported cobalt catalysts were prepared by ion-exchange and step-impregnation methods using Na-modified montmorillonite from Inner Mongolia Xinghe Bentonite. They were characterized by XRD and TPR techniques. The results showed that the active component was easier to load on the supports using impregnation method than ion-exchange method. Moreover, the impregnation times and impregnation order influenced the dispersion degree and reductive behavior of cobalt on the Al-Pillared montmorillonite supported cobalt catalysts.
