Abstract
Effect of different planting density of Huatianyu No.3 on the yield and agronomic characters were studied.The results showed that the yield increased first and then decreased with the increasing density under different density as 3 000,3 500,4 000 plants/667 m2.At the aspect of the growth process and ear characteristics of Huatianyu No.3,the harvest time was advance and the growth period was shorten in density of 4 000 plants/667 m2.But the ear characters became worse,ear length became shorter and the length of bald tip became longer.Grains of a spike,100-grain weight,seed yield,double-ear traits and so on decreased obviously.The best planting density for the fresh ear yield was 3 500 plants per 667 m2.Under such condition,the highest yield of fresh ear reached 1 158.40 kg/667 m2.
