Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of different environment stimulation on the expression of GFAP in hippocampus and the ability of learning and memory of rats with hypoxic-ischemic brain damage(HIBD).Methods The HIBD SD rats models were established by the method of rice. Then the HIBD rats were divided randomly into three groups:standard environment stimulation group(SE),enriched environment stimulation group(EE),and impoverished environment stimulation group(IE).The sham-operation rats served as control group.Different environment intervention was administrated to the rats since the 2nd day after HIBD.On the 28th day, morris water maze was used to evaluate the learning and memory ability. Then the expression of GFAP in the hippocampus was measured by the method of immunohistochemistry. Results The learning and memory ability of IE group reduced and was much lower than that of sham group、SE group and EE group. And the ability of SE group was lower than that of sham group and EE group. There was no significant difference between sham group and EE group.Immunohistochemical analysis showed the expression of GFAP in the hippocampus of sham group significantly decreased as compared with that of other groups(P0.01),and the expression of GFAP of EE group was stronger than that of sham group and IE group(P0.05).The expression of IE group was lower than that of SE group, but there was no significant difference between them(P0.05).Conclusion The EE stimulation could increase the expression of GFAP in the hippocampus of HIBD neonatal rats, enhance neuranagenesis, and improve the ability of learning and memory, while the IE stimulation could decrease the expression of GFAP,inhibit neuranagenesis, and impair the ability of learning and memory.
