Compared the effect of anterior PFM and Zirconia all-ceramic crowns.

Objective To investigate the effect of metal-porcelain(porcelain-fused-to-metal,PFM) crown and zirconia all-ceramic crowns on anterior teeth before and after restoration and repair of periodontal tissues.Methods From October 2008 to November 2009,160 outpatients of the hospital with the needs of the treatment with anterior porcelain crown were randomly divided into two groups.Patients in treatment group were treated with zirconia all-ceramic crowns,patients in control group were treated with PFM crown.The recovery effect was assessed one year later.Results 63.8% of the patients received the treatment of PFM crown showed periodontal changes including mild periodontal changes in 45 patients and severe periodontal changes in 6 patients;however,only 3 patients received the treatment of zirconia all-ceramic crowns showed minor periodontal change.Conclusion Zirconia ceramics fully to front teeth after coronary periodontal tissue repair changes obviously from metal porcelain crowns light.
