Abstract

Using HJC dynamic constitutive model of concrete, the Φ74 mm split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) test with confining pressure device is simulated by LS-DYNA finite element software. The confining pressure is simulated with the method of applying constant pressure around the specimen, and the pressure-time curve of elements of the specimen shows that the method can get a constant and uniform confining pressure value, indicating that such method can simulate the confining pressure test of SHPB well. The concrete mechanics under confining pressure is researched by the method, and the triangle velocity wave with less diffusion is used to load in the simulation. The concrete stress-strain curves are reconstructed by incident wave and transmitted wave, and the results of reconstruction show that the concrete mechanics changes under the effect of confining pressure. The peak stress, strain corresponding to peak stress and toughness increase with the augmentation of confining pressure, which is similar to the theoretical results.
