Abstract

Objective To investigate the depression and anxiety in patients after hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage operation and to assess the safety and therapeutic effect of Deanxit on the depression and anxiety. Methods 231 patients after hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage operation were assessed by Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS).Among them 153 patients with depression and anxiety were selected and divided into two groups randomly. One group(n=73) were treated with Deanxit(treatment group),The other group(n=80) as the control group. After 4 weeks the SDS and SAS scope were reassessed to evaluate the safety and effect of the treatment. Results Among the 153 patients,66 cases(43.1%) had depression,54 cases had anxiety(33.5%),and 33 cases(21.6%) had both depression and anxiety after operation. The scopes of SDS,SAS in treatment group after 4 weeks were reduced to depression 42±6,anxiety 43±7,depression/anxiety 43±4/43±4,respectively,which were different obviously from pre-treatment(depression 59±4,anxiety 63±4,depression/anxiety 67±7/66±6,respectively)and control group(depression 67±9,anxiety 59±10,depression/anxiety 69±7/68±6,respectively)(P0.05).The number of excellent result is 47 cases(64.4%),good result is 21 cases(28.8%),and no change in 5 case(6.8%) in the treatment group. The same result in the control groups were 6 cases(7.5%),23 cases(28.8%),and 51 cases(63.8%)respectively.There was significant different between the 2 groups. Conclusion Depression and anxiety after operation for hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage are very common, which may reduce the ability of daily life and neurologic rehabilitation.Deanxit is safe and effective to treat such condition.
