Detection of Albumin mRNA in Peripheral Blood of Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Abstract

Objective In order to find out a marker of early metastasis of HCC.Methods Alb mRNA of peripheral blood was detected by RT PCR in 39 cases of HCC,10 chirosis,10 hepatitis and 20 normal control.Results Alb mRNA was detectable in 12 of 39 HCC,among them,6 of 8 cases with metastasis were Alb mRNA positive(75.0%) and 6 of 31 cases without metastasis were positive(19.3%).In other 40 subjects,only one showed Alb mRNA positive.Conclusion The presence of Alb mRNA in peripheral blood may be an indicator of circulating HCC cells and might predict hematogenoue spreading metastasis in patients with HCC.
