In the process of social-economic reform, community planning is gaining greater importance in physical planning as well as social organization and management. But in practice, community is often be lack of clear definition in space structure and functional constitute, because of the multiple meaning comprised in community being studied separately from different views. As a result, many community works are still performed in the original way, instead of being adapted to the nowadays situation of social development. In the case of community planning of Jiangning street, shanghai, this paper researches on the way how to integrate the facts of spatial structure with community organizational management, comprehensively consider physical environment, community development and social governance, and promote a framework for effective community planning under the social situation of china.
