Abstract
The people's process of cognition to the urban forestry in the corresponding period abroad and in China was summarized,the function of urban forestry was explained,the necessities of construction of urban forestry were analyzed,the suggestions for construction of urban forestry in China were put forward to raise people's awareness of basic understanding of forestry and to promote the urban forestry construction.
