Abstract
Objective:To introduce a continued skin stretching device by investigating the feasibility and effects on the treatment of skin defects.Methods:8 sets of skin stretching device and six pigs were used in this study.Two back skin defects were prepared in each of the six pigs,and twelve skin defects model were gotten.All the defects were divided into two groups:eight defects in the experimental group and four in the controll group.The area of each defect was 10 cm × 6 cm.In the experimental group,the skin defects were treated by the skin stretching device.In the control group,the defects were left by itself.Results:The area narrowed daily in the experimental group was larger than that of the control group with statistically significant differences.Five-six days later,the defects in the experimental group could be closed by the application of this continuous skin stretching device.And the skin wound could be sealed at the econdary stage.However,the defects in the control group could not be closed after one week.A big skin gap still could be found in the wound.Conclusion:This continuous skin stretching device can be used in the treatment of skin defect and help the closure of skin in early stage.The deficiencies of the previous skin stretching device could be overcome by this continuous skin stretching device.With its feasibility,the device can be easily used on the treatment of skin defects for better prospects.
