THE EMERGING TRENDS OF RESEARCH IN URBAN GEOGRAPHY IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION AND NEW ECONOMY

with globalization and information technology revolution as well as the shift of economic geography,some of trends are emerging in urban geography,based on review of literation of both domestic and oversees,this paper generalized the emerging trends in urban geogrpahy,which include: ①the shift of research scale in Urban Geography;②stressing milti-forces on urban space;③stressing the combination of multi-layered space including production,consumption,distribution,innovation and non-physical space research;④the management of tendency in urban geography.meanwhile,more attentions have been paid to the functions of urban innovaiton and application of research results.
