Advances in study of cell apoptosis

Apoptosis is the ordered disassembly of cell from withi. Cell death in the absense of an inflammatory respones is the best way to distinguish apoptosis from necrosis. Cytosolic Aspartate-Specific Proteases, called CASPases, are responsibile for the deliberate disassembly of a cell into apoptotic bodies. The induction of apoptosis or progression through the process of apoptosis can be inhibited by a group of protein called inhibitors of apoptosis.
