Abstract

Objective To evaluate the ability of the Oxyplate TM for isolating anaerobic bacteria. Methods Oxyplate TM was compared with anaerobic bag for their isolating rate from 100 clinical specimens. Result The isolating rate of Oxyplate TM was 62%, while the rate of anaerobic bag was 58%. Conclusion Oxyplate TM was effective in creating an anaerobic atmosphere, supporting the growth of anaerobic bacteria and useful to isolating anaerobic bacteria from clinical specimen. The isolating rate of Oxyplate TM was higher than the rate of anaerobic bag.
