Abstract

OBJECTIVE To determine the distribu- tion of allergens among allergic rhinitis patients living in Hainan Province. METHODS Skin Prick Test. RESULTS There were 333 cases with positive prick test in the 435 patients, the positive rate was 76.55 %. Among the 333 patients with positive prick test, the allergens were house dust mite in 319 cases (95.8 %), cockroach in 134 cases (40.2 %), dog hair in 63 cases (18.9 %), cat fur in 32 cases (9.6 %), pollen in 24 cases (7.2 %), mold in 20 cases (6.0 %), wormwood in 7cases (2.1 %), guineawood in 6 cases (1.8 %). CONCLUSION The most common allergen in patients with allergic rhinitis in Hainan Province seems to be House dust mite, the second is cockroach and dog hair. The wormwood and guineawood are rare as allergens among the allergic rhinitis patients in Hainan Province.
