Abstract
2,4-dichlorophenol(2,4-DCP) has great toxicity and it is difficult for the biodegradation. It is one common organic pollutant in the wastewater from the industries of chemical engineering, pesticide, dye, antiseptic and so on.In this study, the wastewater with 2,4-DCP was treated with the activated carbon as the adsorbent. The effects of pH value, activated carbon dosage, adsorption time,2,4-DCP concentration and use frequency of activated carbon on the removal of 2,4-DCP were studied. The results show that the removal ratio of 2,4-DCP was affected significantly by the pH value, amount of activated carbon, adsorption time, concentration of 2,4-DCP.At 293 K and pH 5,for the wastewater with 100 mg/L 2,4-DCP,the removal ratio of 2,4-DCP reached 99.54% when the amount of activated carbon and adsorption time was 50 mg and 100 min, respectively. The results satisfied with the national first degree let out level, which provides valuable data for wastewater treatment design and project construction.
