Abstract

The though of China's modernization was the motif running through Lu Xun's life. Against the background of the crises of national survival, Lu Xun examined carefully the situations at home and abroad, and he cast light on the content and approaches of China's modernization. By attaching an emphasis on the basic issue of nationality, he put forward the proposition of establishing the new character of the Chinese nation, and revealed a progressive and hopeful road for China with his profound and sober thought.
