Abstract

Phospholipase D (PLD) is an important signaling molecule,which can hydrolyse phosphatidylcholine (PC) into phosphatidic acid (PA) and choline.Furthermore,PA and its hydrolysis product,diacylglycerol (DAG),are important lipid second messengers.Hence,the activition of PLD involves in multiple signling pathways.A large body of evidence indicates that the activity of PLD is significantly increased in a variety of tumours and PLD is tightly involved in biological behaviors of tumor cells.
