Abstract

Objective To study the influence of meglumine adenosine cyclophosphate(MAC) on the heart function and B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP) of senile patients with heart failure. Methods Forty-eighty patients with senile heart failure hospitalized in our department from June,2010 to August,2011 were randomly divided into two groups: observation group(n=24) and control group(n=24).Both groups were administered conventional treatment, while the observation group received extra MAC based on the treatment of control group. The therapeutic effect, left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular fraction shortening(LVFS),cardiac index(CI) and BNP of patients were compared in two groups. Results After treatment, the total efficacy rate(91.7%) in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(66.7%);except for CI level, the other heart function indexes in two groups increased significantly, while BNP level markedly decreased, and the observation group improved better than the control group. Conclusion In the treatment of patients with senile heart failure,MAC can effectively enhance the efficacy rate, improve cardiac function and decrease BMP level,so it is worthy of being popularized and applied in clinical practice.
