CLINICAL RESEARCH ON TREATMENT OF UPPER URINARY TRACT CALCULUS WITH MINI-PERCUTANEOUS NEPHROLITHOTOMY

Abstract

[Objective] To study the methods and curative effects of mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy(mPCNL) on treating upper urinary tract calculus.[Methods] The data of 98 cases with upper urinary tract calculus who had undergone mPCNL from January 2005 to July 2007 in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively.[Results] All of the 98 cases underwent one-stage mPCNL.The procedure was performed by single tract in 92 cases and by two tracts in 6 cases.The total stone clearance rate was 94.20%.The average time of operation was(68.60±2.36) minutes,average detaining times of nephrostomy tubes was(5.25±0.85) days,and average hospital stays was(8.10±0.70) days.3 cases of staghorn stones and multiple stones underwent mPCNL twice,and 1 case underwent ESWL after operation.Incidence rate of complication was 4.08%.[Conclusion] MPCNL has merits of minimal trauma,less blood loss,fewer complications,safe and effective effect in treating upper urinary tract calculus,which is worth being utilizing widely in clinic.
