On the Connotation of Extensive Responsibilities

The responsibility, a universal concept of both humanity and social ethics, is rich in its content. The responsibility, arising from the nature of man and determined by his conduct and activities, can be understood in a narrow sense and a broad sense in relation to its connotation. Therefore, by considering and analyzing the responsibility philosophically and ethically by virtue of Marxist theories, it is discerned that the freedom of selection and the shouldering of responsibilities is a dialectical unity in that love is the source of the responsibility and morality its basis while rules and laws are compulsory and binding upon the responsibility. The responsibility is the prerequisite of obligations while service is the aim of the responsibility, thus the capacity of responsibilities is acquired through learning and education. As the most advanced class in the history of mankind, the proletariat embraces a concept of responsibilities unprecedented in both its width and depth.
