Abstract

Objective This paper reported the experience of 35 cases during intracardiac operation under CPB through small right thoracotomy incision. Methods 35 cases with atrial septal defect or ventricular septal defect underwent intracardiac operation and CPB through small right thoracotomy incision. Results There was no operative mortality and complication. All patients went out of hospital with healing. Conclusion Intracardiac operation under CPB through small right thoracotomy incision appears to be a less traumatic, simple, and cosmetic compared with median stemotomy for patients with atrial septal defect or ventricular septal defect.
