Abstract

Muzzle water-sealing board of underwater gun can increase muzzle velocity of projectile,and thus improve load conditions of projectile in bore.By means of force analysis of projectile in bore during fire,and on the basis of classical interior ballistic theory,as well as in consideration of shock wave pressure formed by compressed air in front of projectile,interior ballistic model of underwater gun was established.Numerical simulation of the interior ballistic model for a certain underwater gun was carried out,and pressure-velocity curves were obtained,these curves were similar to those of traditional gun,but the pressure had a little increased,and the velocity had decreased.Shock wave pressure curves in front of projectile were also obtained by means of numerical simulation,they were in coincident with experiment results.
