Abstract
Fertilizer application is one of the important factors affecting N2O emission from paddy fields. Based on related literatures from China and abroad, this paper summarized the effects of fertilizer type, fertilizer quantity, fertilization pattern and the time of fertilization on N2O emission from paddy fields. The research emphases in the future are to investigate the mechanism of N2O emission,to further investigate N2O emission from paddy fields as affected by fertilizer application,to further investigate the integrated effect of fertilization on greenhouse gases (CH4 and N2O) emissions from paddy fields and to find out feasible mitigation technologies.
