Abstract

Based on the statistical data of 1970-2008,this paper analyzes the interdependence of trade and economic growth between China and the Europe and policy choice for new protectionism with empirical methods. The exports and imports between China and the Europe improve the economic growth of these countries, and the economic growth of these countries supplies the foundations for international trade. Besides the traditional trade protectionism,China and the Europe, especially the EU,should focus on the new trade protectionism, such as carbon protectionism, digital protectionism, new ideology protectionism, multinational protectionism, and so on,and the government should carry out corresponding policies to cope with it.
